The HSE Inspectors' Guide to Risk Assessment

As part of managing the health and safety of your business, you must control the risks in your workplace.

You're required to carry out a risk assessment by law and, of course, it's important to get it right.

So wouldn't it be useful to know how HSE examines and uses employers' risk assessments?
What the common errors that HSE finds in the risk assessment process are? And how to use this information to manage risks more effectively and avoid enforcement action?

Now you can.

HSE regularly runs a 1 day workshop: The HSE Inspectors' Guide to Risk Assessment.

The next session will be held on Tuesday 30 April  at ETC Venues Marble Arch, London.

Aimed at health and safety professionals, business owners or managers responsible for managing and controlling risks, the workshop is delivered by a senior HSE inspector with more than 25 years of experience. This gives you a rare opportunity to see the world through an HSE inspector's eyes.

By attending you'll learn:

  • the different types of risk assessment required under health and safety legislation
  • how HSE inspectors use risk assessments during inspections and investigations
  • how inspectors form judgements about whether risks are adequately controlled
  • the common errors found in risk assessments and how businesses can use these
         to manage risk
  • under which circumstances an inadequate risk assessment might lead to enforcement action         and what form that action is likely to take
  • how to improve your risk assessment processes, manage risk better and avoid formal or               informal action

Can't make it to London in April? Further sessions of The HSE Inspectors' Guide to Risk Assessment will be held in Manchester in June 2019.
