 Machinery Safety: Designing and Specifying Safety Related Control Systems Thursday 08 August 2019, Buxton Control systems for machinery, whether electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic are often needed to perform safety-related functions. Learn how to specify and design safety related control circuits which comply with the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations. This course explains how regulations and standards are applied to real-life situations, using examples of how to and how not to do it. It also provides methods and templates to aid compliance with the relevant requirements. The course is aimed at electrical, control and project engineers who specify control systems on customized machinery/assemblies or those who modify control systems on existing machinery.

 The HSE Inspector's Guide to Electrical Safety Tuesday 20 August, Buxton On Thursday 16 May 2019, HSE is running its highly popular HSE Inspectors' Guide to Electrical Safety at the HSE Science and Research Centre near Buxton, Derbyshire. Delivered by highly experienced Specialist Electrical Inspectors, this 1 day workshop gives you a practical understanding of what HSE inspectors look for in the control of electrical safety risks, including the effectiveness of appropriate controls. The workshop is based on HSE's practical enforcement experience which arises out of the businesses it inspects, generally those in the higher risk industries but also those where although the hazards can be high, the risks are thought to be well-controlled. You will review known high-risk electrical safety issues together with the controls based on HSE's investigation experiences and understand the practical application of enforcement.
