Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Risk Management Tuesday 17 September 2019, Buxton Our exposure to display screen technology is continuing to increase, with reported levels of up to 9 hours per day spent consuming media on devices such as computers, laptops, smartphones and tablet PCs. Greater exposure means that the effects of preventable risks such as poor or fixed postures can accumulate and lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs account for 24% of all UK working days lost due to work-related ill health; that's an estimated 6.6million days lost in the year 2017/18. (Source: HSE Statistics) HSE is to run a 1 day course on Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Risk Management at its Science and Research Centre near Buxton, Derbyshire on Tuesday 17 September 2019. Delivered by experienced ergonomists, this course provides an understanding of DSE risks, an approach to risk management and the documentation needed to provide your employer with risk assessments. It will be most beneficial for health and safety providers with limited knowledge or experience of DSE risk management who wish to become a DSE assessor. It's also suitable for those who wish to update or consolidate their knowledge and experience as a DSE assessor. | | .
