COSHH training - Practical Assessment and Control COSHH is the law that requires employers to control substances that are hazardous to health.
All employers must carry out a risk assessment and those with five or more employees must also record significant findings. They must must provide information about the hazards, risks and control measures, and instruction and training to use the control measures. Many people tasked with COSHH assessments are unsure what is required or where to get information. Once the initial assessment is complete, they may ben uncertain on how to approach control, and how to judge when control is adequate. HSE's 2 day course, 'COSHH Training - Practical Assessment and Control' will benefit anyone tasked with completing COSHH assessments and/or implementing controls, whether for the first time or to improve skills. COSHH Training - Practical Assessment and Control takes place at HSE's Science and Research Centre near Buxton, Derbyshire on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 September 2019.

| . Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Risk Management Our exposure to display screen technology continues to increase. Greater exposure means that the effects of preventable risks such as poor or fixed postures can accumulate and lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs account for 24% of all UK working days lost due to work-related ill health; in 2017/18 that was an estimated 6.6 million days lost. (Source: HSE Statistics) HSE is to run a 1 day course on Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Risk Management at its Science and Research Centre near Buxton, Derbyshire on Tuesday 17 September 2019.
