The HSE Inspectors' Guide to Risk Assessment
(LONDON)

Thursday 17 October 2019, Marble Arch

As part of managing the health and safety of your business, you must control the risks in your workplace.

You're required to carry out a risk assessment by law so it's important to get it right.

Now you have the unique opportunity to find out from a highly experienced HSE inspector:

  • how HSE examines and uses employers' risk assessments
  • the errors that are most commonly found in risk assessments
  • how these findings can be used to effectively manage risk and avoid enforcement action

Our popular 1 day workshop, The HSE Inspectors' Guide to Risk Assessment will take place on Thursday 17 October at ETC Venues Marble Arch, London.

It's aimed at health and safety professionals, business owners or managers responsible for managing and controlling risks, who will learn:

  • the different types of risk assessment required under health and safety legislation
  • how HSE inspectors use risk assessments during inspections and investigations
  • how inspectors form judgements about whether risks are adequately controlled
  • under which circumstances an inadequate risk assessment might lead to enforcement action and what form that action is likely to take
  • how to better assess and manage risk and avoid formal or informal action

Electrical Safety training from HSE

The HSE Inspectors' Guide to Electrical Safety

Tuesday 19 November, 2019, Buxton

HSE is running the HSE Inspectors' Guide to Electrical Safety at its Science and Research Centre in Buxton, on November 19th.

Delivered by Specialist Electrical Inspectors with extensive industry experience, this 1 day workshop gives you a practical understanding of what HSE inspectors are looking for in the control of electrical safety risks, including the effectiveness of appropriate controls.

The workshop is based on HSE's practical enforcement experience which arises out of the businesses it inspects, generally those in the higher risk industries but also those where although the hazards can be high, the risks are thought to be well-controlled.

You will review known high-risk electrical safety issues together with the controls based on HSE's investigation experiences and understand the practical application of enforcement.

The workshop is aimed at Business owners, senior managers and technical specialists responsible for managing and controlling general electrical safety risks.
It's also suitable for owners and operators of both public (licensed) and private (unlicensed) electrical distribution networks.

HSE Battery Event

HSE's Innovation in Battery Technology Event

 ~Early-bird offer must end Monday 9th September~

Britain's new industrial strategy needs to be powered by clean energy. As such, there is growing demand for, and investment in, batteries for electrification.

Government investment is initially focused on the automotive sector and electric vehicles, but this investment will help to advance battery technology for other applications in an electrified economy.

But new technologies introduce new challenges - especially when it comes to health and safety.

HSE is responding to these challenges by hosting Innovation in Battery Technology - Safely Enabling the Industrial Strategy.

We've already secured high-profile speakers representing the scientific community, industry and the emergency services, with more to follow.

And for a limited time, up to and including Monday 9th September, you can get tickets at the special early-bird price of £425 per person (will be £495 from 10th September).

Don't miss your chance,
