From 24 February, the UK government has ended any remaining legal coronavirus restrictions in England. This includes removal of the requirement to self-isolate. Please see GOV.UK guidance for further information. There are different timescales for the removal of restrictions in Scotland and Wales. You should continue to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in line with your risk assessment. The following workplace controls remain: You can keep up to date with the latest information on continuing to reduce coronavirus transmission in workplaces. This includes advice from public health bodies and other government departments. Make sure you submit a RIDDOR report for a workplace accident where necessary. The RIDDOR Regulations put duties on employers, the self-employed and those in control of work premises to report certain serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases and specified dangerous occurrences. HSE's Accident Book can be used to record details of all work-related accidents including injuries that employers must report under RIDDOR. | A school has been sentenced for its failures to adequately manage risk after a group of schoolchildren were rescued by a mountain rescue team when they became stranded in winter conditions. A group of Year 10 pupils were on an organised trip to Helvellyn in the Lake District, led by one teacher and a teaching assistant. An investigation by HSE found that neither of the adults with the party had the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience to lead the trip, and that the school had not taken advice from a suitably competent person to plan or organise the excursion.
