Learn how to manage fire and explosion risks posed by dangerous substances stored and used in the workplace  Dangerous substances can be found in nearly all workplaces and include such things as solvents, paints, varnishes, flammable gases, dusts, pressurised gases and substances corrosive to metal. The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) place duties on employers and the self-employed to protect employees, contractors and others from the risks from fires and explosions related to dangerous substances stored and used in the workplace. HSE runs three courses to help employers comply with DSEAR, all held at the HSE Science and Research Centre in Buxton.
