Are you a new or potential Principal Designer? The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 introduced a new role: that of 'Principal Designer'. A principal designer can be either an an organisation or an individual (on smaller projects) appointed by the client to take control of the pre-construction phase of any project involving more than one contractor. Principal designers play an important role in influencing how risks to health and safety are managed throughout a project. Design decisions made during the pre-construction phase can help to ensure that the project is delivered in a way that secures the health and safety of everyone affected by the work. .   Get an expert introduction to the role of Principal Designer  On Tuesday 2 July 2019, at our Science and Research Centre in Buxton, Derbyshire HSE is presenting the highly popular 1-day course: 'The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) - An Introduction to the Role of the Principal Designer.'
